Wheat Belly Summary


This post by Dr. Davis on his blog is a wonderful summary of wheat-related carnage.  The only piece of information I would add to this is that 2 slices of whole wheat bread are equivalent to a snickers bar in terms of the sugar load. As a pediatrician, I am seeing more and more celiac patients. But that is really just the tip of the iceberg with regards to inflammatory changes in the intestine.


  1. You are more then welcome to continue eating the wheat bread. Some people are able to tolerate it. Many cannot – as Dr Davis has shown us. Wheat (like snickers) is not “essential” to the human diet. There is nothing in wheat bread that can’t be found in fruits and veggies.
